Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah and manager Jurgen Klopp were involved in a heated exchange during the 2-2 Premier League draw against West Ham, sparking speculation about tensions within the team.
Salah appeared to clash with Klopp as he was set to enter the game as a substitute in the 79th minute. While Klopp declined to disclose the details of the argument, former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch expressed concern about the incident, noting that such conflicts are not beneficial for the club’s image.
“Salah is a key player who has been a regular starter for Liverpool, and it’s understandable that he would be frustrated with being on the bench,” Crouch commented on TNT Sports. “However, disagreements between a manager and a player are never ideal.”
The altercation seemed to stem from something Klopp said to Salah before his substitution, leading to visible frustration from the Egyptian forward. Teammates Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez intervened to defuse the situation.
The draw against West Ham dealt a blow to Liverpool’s title aspirations, leaving them in third place in the table. Their chances of winning the title now hinge on Arsenal and Manchester City dropping points, offering only a slim hope of a late title challenge.
