Spain kept their hopes of winning a fourth European Championship alive as Mikel Merino’s 119th-minute goal secured a thrilling victory over hosts Germany, propelling them into the semi-finals of Euro 2024. The pulsating encounter at Stuttgart Arena lived up to its billing as the tournament’s most anticipated match.
The match, brimming with aggression, tension, and drama, was a spectacle from start to finish. Dani Olmo broke the deadlock six minutes into the second half, side-footing home a cross from 16-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal, who registered his third assist of the Euros.
