Sunshine Stars of Akure have sacked the team’s head coach Edith Agoye (Govima Sport Reports)
Following the team’s defeat in Ilorin against Kwara United, Sunshine Stars of Akure has decided to part ways with the team’s head coach Edith Agoye.
The Owena Whale’s season has been all about ups and downs and their recent form hasn’t been impressive to say the least. The Akure gunners currently sit 12th on the log with 22 points in 19 games this season. And over the weekend they suffered a narrow defeat to the Afonja Warriors.
The team has picked up some fantastic points on the road this season however their home form hasn’t been all out impressive with the side getting more draws than win on their home turf
The report breaking out from the team’s camp this morning revealed that the club hierarchy has asked the coach to step aside and the quest for a nrw gaffer has begun.
The likes of Kennedy Boboye, Duke Udi and Deji Ayeni who had previously coached the team in the past have been touted as possible replacements.
Who the team will finally appoint can’t be ascertain at this time, but one thing is certain at this point by the time Sunshine will be playing their next league match, we shall be seeing a new coach in the dugout.
