President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of executive directors to the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) board, tasking them with supporting the commission in fulfilling its statutory mandate.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The newly appointed directors include Biliquis Sanni for Administration and Human Resources, Aisha Ibrahim for Commercial and Industrial Development, James Uloko for Corporate Services, Muhammad Bashar for Finance, and Atika Ajanah for Projects. “The directors will assist the commission in actualising its statutory mandate,” the statement said.
President Tinubu urged the executive directors to work closely with the NCDC’s governing board in promoting and coordinating sustainable development across the North-Central geopolitical zone. He emphasized the commission’s role in driving infrastructure development, addressing ecological challenges, and fostering economic growth in states affected by insecurity, flooding, and other developmental setbacks.
Established in February 2025 after the signing of the North Central Development Commission Bill into law, the NCDC’s jurisdiction covers Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau States, and the Federal Capital Territory. “The directors are expected to work collaboratively to ensure that the objectives of the commission are achieved and that development initiatives positively impact the lives of citizens in the region,” the statement added.
