At the Ramadan gathering held at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, said the economy is taking a turn for the better and Nigerians will “all smile once again” in the coming months.
During the breaking of the fast, Tinubu assured attendees, including ministers and service chiefs, that the country is on the brink of improving economically.
Tinubu stated, “Luckily, the economy is turning the corner. By the grace of God, in the coming months, we will have a bountiful harvest season and we shall all smile once again.” He said that despite recent economic challenges, Nigeria is set for growth, and cited examples of nations that have overcome worse situations.
Recalling Ramadan as a period of charity and forgiveness, Tinubu called for prayers to bring peace and stability back to the country. He called for unity over differences and drew attention to the similarities between other religions, pointing out the overlap between Ramadan and Lent.
Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi, expressed gratitude to the President for hosting the gathering and pledged support for the nation’s success. Fagbemi conveyed prayers for the President’s well-being and underscored the collective commitment of the attendees to work towards national prosperity.
