Nigerian media personality and author Toke Makinwa has revealed a deeply personal reflection on her 20s, admitting that much of her decade was devoted to following one man.

According to Vanguard, in a candid interview, Makinwa shared how her previous relationships, particularly with her ex-husband, shaped her life during her formative years.

“I spent my entire 20s following one man,” Makinwa confessed. “It was a time when I thought everything revolved around him, and I was willing to put my dreams and aspirations on hold for that relationship.”

The 39-year-old, known for her resilience and openness, explained that her experiences during this period were both transformative and challenging. Despite facing difficulties, including her highly publicized divorce, she now reflects on those years with a sense of growth and understanding.

“I don’t regret it,” Makinwa continued. “It taught me valuable lessons about self-love, boundaries, and finding balance between love and personal ambition. I now know that my happiness starts with me.”

Makinwa has become an advocate for self-discovery and independence, often sharing her journey of rebuilding her life and career post-divorce. As a prominent figure in Nigerian media, she encourages others, particularly women, to embrace their individuality and prioritize their personal growth.

As she enters her 40s, Makinwa is focused on creating new opportunities for herself while continuing to inspire her audience with her empowering message of strength and self-love.
