Super Eagles Announce Exciting New Squad Additions for World Cup Qualifiers

In preparation for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the Super Eagles have unveiled a dynamic squad featuring five new faces alongside familiar talents as earlier reported by Sportsonline.

Fulham’s defensive stalwart, Tosin Adarabioyo, headlines the quartet of fresh call-ups, joined by Werder Bremen’s rising star Justin Njinmah, Caleb Okoli from Frozinone, and Gabriel Osho, the skillful playmaker from Luton Town. These additions inject youth and versatility into the Super Eagles lineup, promising an exciting blend of experience and emerging talent.

Returning to the fold is Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, marking a significant comeback after an absence of over a year. However, Francis Uzoho’s omission from the 25-man squad, as announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), adds intrigue to the team dynamics for the crucial World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.

Leading the attacking front are Napoli’s prolific striker Victor Osimhen and Bayer Leverkusen’s sharpshooter Victor Boniface, supported by the likes of Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Nathan Tella, and Terem Moffi, providing a potent goal-scoring threat.

The midfield is anchored by seasoned players such as Chuba Akpon, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Joe Aribo, and Onyedika from Club Brugge, complemented by the promising talent of Alhassan Yusuf from Antwerp.

The defensive lineup boasts strength and depth with the inclusion of Calvin Bassey, Alex Akpoguma, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Ola Aina, ensuring solidity at the back.

In goalkeeping duties, Stanley Nwabali, fresh from his standout performances at the Africa Cup of Nations, leads a trio that includes the experienced Okoye and Arsenal loanee Arthur Okonkwo, providing a formidable last line of defense.

With this blend of new faces and seasoned campaigners, the Super Eagles aim to soar to victory in their quest for World Cup qualification, showcasing Nigeria’s footballing prowess on the global stage.
