Denmark defeated Uefa Nations League Defending Champions France at the stade de France stadium, in paris.

Denmark coach, Hjulmand has given a reason his team defeated France 2-1 in Friday’s UEFA Nations League tie.

Hjulmand said Denmark won against defending champions france because his players had the upper hand in the midfield against the host, parked with lot of experienced midfielders like Ngolo kante, Aurielien Tchouameni, Kingsley Coman, Moussa Diaby, and Adrien Rabiot.

According to him, his team had prepared for the clash against France a long time ago. Two goals from Andreas Cornelius in the 68 minutes and 88 minutes secured Denmark victory against France. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Denmark, defeating the host in front of their home fans. But the defending champions are expected to come back stronger in their match.

Karim Benzema did score for France at the Stade de France Stadium few minutes when Paris Saint German superstar Kylian Mbappe had injury, and was substituted by Leipzig Sensational Christopher Nkunku who did assist for Benzema in a disappointing match for the blues.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, Kasper Hjulmand said: “We are, above all, very happy and very proud of this fantastic performance here in Paris, and all the credit goes to the players. People will celebrate this victory in the streets in Denmark, and we are happy to be able to make the country happy. It’s a very big victory. We’d prepared for this match for a long time.

“We wanted to have the upper hand in midfield and not give up space to the French behind us. We had to change the game system and it’s great to see the players able to adapt.”

Basking in the euphoria of confidence, Denmark will face what is now a reborn Austria in their next game on Monday, Ralf Rangnick side will for sure fancy their chance against an in-form Denmark.
