“Wike Is A Destroyer” Says PDP Chieftain – Ewoh

PDP Chieftain Accuses Nyesom Wike of Undermining Elections in Rivers State.

A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Nnam Robinson Ewoh, has criticised Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State, accusing him of being a “destroyer” who has never won an election through popular votes.

In an interview with Symfoni on Wednesday, Ewoh, a former Rivers lawmaker, claimed that Wike has consistently used violence and manipulation to secure electoral victories, rather than relying on genuine popular support. He further alleged that Wike’s influence has been detrimental to the PDP, causing a decline in the party’s fortunes in the state.

“Wike, from history, is a destroyer,” Ewoh remarked during the interview, which has since been widely circulated in a trending video clip. “He has destroyed the PDP and everyone he supported. So Wike cannot bring anything good or new to this state.”

Ewoh went on to express confidence in the ability of the current Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, to secure a second term in office in 2027, despite the ongoing tensions between him and Wike. He argued that Wike’s influence in the state has been overstated and that the people’s votes, not Wike’s, will determine the outcome of the next gubernatorial election.

“Whether Wike is there or not, it is immaterial,” Ewoh continued. “What will determine Governor Fubara’s return in 2027 are Rivers votes, not Wike’s vote. Wike has a single vote, and that cannot make the governor lose the election.”

The PDP chieftain also warned President Bola Tinubu to be cautious in his dealings with Wike, suggesting that the former Rivers governor could eventually turn against him as political events unfold.

Ewoh’s statements highlight the ongoing friction within the PDP in Rivers State, with Wike’s role in the party continuing to spark debate and criticism. As the political landscape evolves ahead of the 2027 elections, it remains to be seen how these dynamics will impact the future of the party in the region.
