Wolves Submit Loan Offer for Arsenal Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a formal bid to secure the services of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on a season-long loan deal. The proposal, submitted on Monday, includes an option for Wolves to make the move permanent in 2025.
Ramsdale, 26, has seen limited playing time at Arsenal since the arrival of Spanish goalkeeper David Raya, who initially joined the Gunners on loan from Brentford in 2023 before making his move permanent. Ramsdale, who was signed by Arsenal from Sheffield United for £24 million in 2021, made just 11 appearances last season. Despite this, he was still included in England’s squad for Euro 2024.
With two years remaining on his Arsenal contract, Ramsdale is eager to secure first-team football, having been an unused substitute in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Wolves in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
At Wolves, Portuguese international José Sá has been the first-choice goalkeeper since his arrival from Olympiakos in 2021. However, the potential addition of Ramsdale could provide strong competition for the starting position at Molineux.
The deal, if completed, would offer Ramsdale a crucial opportunity to revive his career with consistent playing time in the Premier League.
