2027: Ethnic Politics Won’t Stop Tinubu – APC Declares

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 cannot be derailed by ethnic politics.

The party made this declaration in response to a recent comment by Chief Dele Momodu, who urged opposition parties to unite and use ethnic sentiment to defeat the president.

APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, described Momodu’s suggestion as outdated, stressing that Nigerians have moved past using ethnicity as a tool for political manipulation. According to him, “the days of weaponising ethnicity as a shortcut to power are long gone. The Nigerian electorate has evolved; they are now focused on who can deliver results, not who can divide the nation.”

Oladejo further noted that President Tinubu’s performance since assuming office has demonstrated his commitment to rebuilding the nation on a foundation of fairness, inclusion, and reform. He said the administration’s efforts in infrastructure renewal, economic recovery, and social investment have shown that leadership is about competence and results rather than regional identity.

He added that the APC remains confident about the president’s growing popularity and the party’s strong position ahead of the 2027 elections. “This administration is proving that leadership is about ideas, not identity,” Oladejo said, stressing that Tinubu’s track record will speak louder than divisive rhetoric.

Oladejo also advised Dele Momodu to focus on his own political future rather than offering misguided counsel to others. He said the opposition’s defeat in 2027 is already certain because Nigerians have seen the clear difference between performance and propaganda.

The APC maintained that the upcoming 2027 elections will not be determined by ethnicity or emotion but by credibility, results, and the ability to deliver good governance. It emphasized that Tinubu’s government has continued to demonstrate purpose-driven leadership that resonates with the people across all regions of the country.
