Weightlifting duo Rafiatu Folashade Lawal and Adijat Adenike Olarinoye will on Monday evening begin their quest for gold and silver medals for Nigeria when they compete in the 59kg women’s category at the ongoing 2024 Africa Senior Weightlifting Championship in Egypt.
According to the statement released by the Media Officer of the Nigerian Weightlifting Federation, Amaechi Agbo.
The two weightlifters won three Gold and three Silver medals, respectively, during the 2023 edition in Tunisia.
The Championship, which also serves as the Paris 2024 qualifier, began on Sunday with an opening ceremony.,
Lawal and Adenike will both compete to earn medals by 4pm Nigerian time.
