The Governorship election petition tribunal has nullified the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state, declaring PDP’s David Ombugadu as the winner. Delivering the judgment virtually, the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi declared Emmanuel Ombugadu of the PDP as the lawfully elected governor of Nasarawa State.

Rivers State Governorship Election petition has thrown out the petition filed by the candidate of the Labour Party. Beatrice Itubo was challenging the declaration of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Simnalayi Fubara as the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the State. Hearing is ongoing at the Tribunal sitting in Abuja on a petition filed by LP and the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Tonye Cole. Beatrice Itubo, who wants the tribunal to declare her winner of the polls, came third in the election.

Wild jubilation engulfed Araromi-Okeodo, a community in Ife-South Local Government Area of Osun State, following supply of electricity to the town for the first time, after 91 years in total darkness. President Bola Tinubu has responded to the rejection of his initial offer by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) by raising the temporary allowance for treasury-paid Federal Government workers. The allowance has been increased from N25,000 to N35,000, aiming to ease the financial burden brought about by the removal of subsidy on premium motor spirit.
