Governor Nysome Wike of Rivers state has cast his vote in the ongoing Presidential and National elections. Wike cast his vote at his polling unit 7 in Ward 9 in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state. The Rivers governor had earlier expressed disappointment with the functionality of the Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to his polling unit.

Famous Nigerian content creator and activist Adebowale Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has raised the alarm that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were yet to arrive at his polling unit. Mr. Macaroni made this known in a tweet on Saturday. The comedian stressed that Nigerians are patiently waiting to vote. “We are still waiting for @inecnigeria officials. The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, was on Saturday, unable to cast vote at his polling unit 7, Ward 9, Wimpey Junction, Rumuepirikom, Port Harcourt, Rivers State as the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System network failed. The governor arrived at his polling unit with his entourage. Voters’ accreditation began late at the polling unit as election materials and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission were not seen as of 10 am.

The vice president and his wife, both from Ikenne, voted at Polling Unit 14, Egunrege, Ikenne Local Government Area.
