Sen. Ahmed Lawan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Yobe North Senatorial District election in Yobe. Declaring the results in Gashua on Monday, the Returning Officer, Prof. Omolala Aduoju of Federal University, Gashua, said Lawan scored 91,318 votes. ”Having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest votes, Alhaji Ahmed Lawan of the APC is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” she said. According to INEC, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, scored 263,572 votes; Peter Obi of Labour Party, LP, 31,166 votes; Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, 136,909 votes, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, 3,141 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the Social Democratic Party for the Nasarawa West Senatorial District election, Aliyu Wadada, as the winner of Saturday’s election in the area. The Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has defeated the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Lagos, his home state. Though Tinubu won more local government areas, Obi defeated him with most of the votes. All the results of the 20 local governments have been declared. Tinubu won in 11, while Obi won in nine local government areas. With the results declared, Obi polled 582,664, while Tinubu scored 541,850.

The National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has said the collation of results will start on Sunday.
