Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has petitioned the Federal High Court for a transfer from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) to Kuje prison.
Kanu, who is currently held by the DSS, has raised alarming allegations of inadequate medical care and a purported conspiracy to endanger his life while in custody.
Kanu lamented the lack of proper medical facilities within the DSS premises, claiming that his health condition, including congestive heart failure and swollen feet, requires urgent attention.
He expressed frustration over the DSS’s alleged refusal to conduct necessary surgery.
He said, “People will come to see me they will not allow them. They don’t have a medical facility. I have congestive heart failure. They are patching me up.
“My foot is swollen. I asked them to conduct surgery, and they said they couldn’t. There is a conspiracy to die in detention. I want to be transferred to Kuje.” he stated
