NSCDC Deploys 2,250 Personnel Across Lagos For Easter Security Operations.

The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,250 officers and men to strategic locations across the state in preparation for the Good Friday and Easter festivities.

The deployment follows the Federal Government’s declaration of Friday, 18th April, and Monday, 21st April 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

State Commandant Mr Adedotun Keshinro reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure throughout Lagos during the festive period and beyond. He noted that the strategic deployment was part of efforts to ensure maximum security and protection across all sectors of the economy.

While addressing officers and tactical squads on Thursday, Keshinro disclosed that operational strategies had been reinvigorated to combat criminal activities, particularly those of vandals and other elements seeking to disrupt the peace and hinder economic progress.

“This deployment is timely and necessary to ensure that criminals do not take advantage of the celebrations to perpetrate their acts,” said Keshinro.

The command, he added, would be working in synergy with other sister security agencies to deliver a seamless and secure Easter period for all residents.

The personnel have been charged to focus their efforts on strategic locations, public facilities, religious centres, parks and gardens, oil pipeline installations, and other vital government-owned infrastructure across federal, state, and local levels.

Keshinro assured Lagosians that the NSCDC would leave no stone unturned in its mission to ensure a peaceful celebration. He revealed that, alongside visible patrols, the command would employ intelligence-led strategies, including both physical and psychological deterrents, and specialised interventions by units such as the Special Female Squad (SFS) and the Quick Intervention Squad (QIS).

The commandant also congratulated Christian faithful in the state, urging all citizens to embrace the virtues of Easter — including love, sacrifice, humility, tolerance, and unity.

“Let us come together as a people to uphold the values that this season represents,” he stated.

As Lagos prepares to mark the Easter holiday, residents have been encouraged to remain law-abiding and to report any suspicious activities to security agencies promptly.
