Pep Guardiola Declares Manchester City His Final Club Job.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that his current role will be his last in club football, hinting at a possible future in international management. The 53-year-old Spaniard, who has enjoyed a glittering career with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and City, shared his thoughts during an interview with celebrity chef Dani Garcia on YouTube.

Guardiola, who signed a two-year contract extension in November to remain at City until 2027, expressed no intention of managing another club after his tenure with the reigning Premier League champions.

“I’m not going to manage another team,” Guardiola stated. “I’m not talking about the long-term future, but what I’m not going to do is leave Manchester City, go to another country, and do the same thing as now. I wouldn’t have the energy.”

While Guardiola has left the door open to potentially managing a national team, he also hinted at taking time away from the sport. “Maybe a national team, but that’s different. I want to leave it and go and play golf. I think stopping would do me good,” he said.

Since joining City in 2016, Guardiola has won 15 major trophies, including five Premier League titles. His success has cemented his legacy as one of the most accomplished managers in football history. However, City’s current form has been inconsistent, with only one win in their last nine matches.

After their recent 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace, Guardiola admitted the team must focus on individual games rather than long-term ambitions. “Right now, we are not in the position to talk about winning games in plural,” he said during his pre-match press conference. “We have to win the game and not look at what happens in the next one yet.”

City face a challenging week ahead, with a Champions League clash against Juventus on Wednesday and a Premier League showdown against rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

As Guardiola looks to stabilise his team’s performances, his declaration about his managerial future underscores the significance of his ongoing project at Manchester City, which he intends to see through before stepping away from club football.
