Sunshine Queens Target Victory Over Honey Badgers in Aba
Sunshine Queens assistant coach, Shola Oyewusi, is optimistic about the team’s prospects in the upcoming 2024 Women’s President Federation Cup. The Owena Whales are set to face Honey Badgers in the Round of 16 at the Enyimba International Stadium on Wednesday.
Oyewusi expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and their ability to secure a victory. “We have the squad that can do it. This is the FA Cup, and anything can happen,” she told the media.
The assistant coach emphasized the importance of motivation and adherence to the head coach Rafiu Oseni’s philosophy. “On our part as coaches, we will try our best to motivate the ladies to enable us to come out victorious in the game,” Oyewusi added.
Sunshine Queens and Honey Badgers have faced each other twice during the recently concluded Nigerian Women Football League season, with Sunshine Queens recording one win and a draw against the Makurdi-based club. This track record boosts the team’s confidence as they aim to progress to the next stage of the competition.
