Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage, has expressed frustration over the constant backlash she faces due to her fashion choices.
The 44-year-old single mother revealed that she often faces age-shaming from Nigerians.
Savage compared her situation to that of American singer Beyoncé, who is also in her 40s. While Beyoncé is celebrated for her beauty and confidence, Savage faces criticism for wearing revealing outfits.
“They age-shame me every single day,” Savage said. “They say, a woman of your age, how can you be wearing a bikini? I can because I have a body.”
Savage emphasized that she wants to be celebrated for her beauty and confidence, rather than being shamed for her age.
