Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his wife, Chioma Adeleke, has been his girlfriend for an impressive 12 years.
The 32-year-old Grammy-nominated singer made this disclosure in an interview on The Baller Alert Show in the United States.
When asked to give a shoutout to Chioma, Davido’s face lit up with a smile as he gushed about her and their twins. “Shout out to my wife and the mother of my beautiful twins, Mrs Chioma Adeleke. She has been my girl for almost 12 years. I love you and I got you for life,” he said.
Davido and Chioma’s relationship has been a long and enduring one. The singer met Chioma while studying music at Babcock University, and their relationship came to light after he dedicated a song titled ‘Assurance’ to her in 2018.
The couple’s journey has not been without its challenges. In 2021, their union temporarily hit the rocks amid allegations that the singer was in another relationship. Tragedy struck in October 2022 when the couple lost their first child together, Ifeanyi.
However, Davido and Chioma have persevered and have come out stronger. In March 2023, the singer disclosed that he and Chioma had officially married. The couple welcomed twins in the United States in October 2023 and tied the knot traditionally in June 2024.
