The former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has reportedly sued the Department of State Services (DSS) for his detention. The former EFCC boss was on Wednesday night released by the DSS since his incarceration without trial since June 14, 2023. The House of Representatives has rejected a motion seeking to compel examination bodies such as JAMB, WAEC and NECO to register students free of charge for the 2023-2024 examination. The Sokoto State Election Petition Tribunal has ruled in favor of Aminu Tambuwal, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), upholding his victory as the duly elected Senator for Sokoto South Senatorial District. Danbaba’s petition alleged that the election did not comply substantially with the provisions of the Electoral Act and requested the Tribunal to declare the election inconclusive.
